PROFILE

[BACKGROUND]
I'm Andrew Zellinger, a Staff AI Product Designer and fractional design partner. For two decades I've worked at the intersection of strategy, design, and code — the designer founders bring in early to be the entire design function, or to move fast alongside an existing team. I've worked across studios, agencies, startups, and large tech companies in more than a dozen industries, and what's stayed constant is the instinct to take an idea the whole distance: from first-principles strategy through research and design to a shipped, working interface.
[FOREFRONT]
Lately I've been dissolving the line between designing a product and building it — going deep into AI engineering, orchestrating multi-agent systems, and open-sourcing developer tools. I treat my practice as a laboratory, because I believe most software is about to be rebuilt — not improved, rebuilt around what these systems can actually do.
The craft that matters now lives in judgment, not output. A model can produce a thousand variations; deciding which one earns its place is still the work. The best AI products don't automate the most — they balance automation with authentic human agency, transparency, and trust. So I build the way I design and design the way I build, most useful at the frontier. Let's build what's next together.
